The Bound Together Magazine
It began in AD 1994.
The magazine is Cumbria’s only ecumenical news sheet, in that it has been
distributed to all corners of the theological divide
in Cumbria. It serves even those who are its
worst critics.
There is a pretence by some leaders that all is rosy in the ecumenical garden, however, there is a significant sectarian divide in Cumbria and that is manifestly visibly in the City of Carlisle.
However, the Bound Together magazine has consistently over 14 years been read even by Christians attending churches that have no ecumenical connection in practice, or even in a tentative exploration of common ground.
There has never been a single church in 14 years where Bound Together was not welcomed and read by most of the the congregations, even when the leaders did not want it distributed because of reasons of sectarianism, or church politics.
It has been a testimony to God’s grace and provision.
