Cleansing

These pages are about removing what is harmful from my life.

I want my life to be filled with what is good. If  I cannot

immediately remove a harmful thing, or situation, or person

from my life, I will call upon the power of the Holy Spirit, by

the power of prayer, to make what is harmful to me, un-harmful.

I will ask for prayer support from others (and also use web sites

that provide prayer support) and be precise in what I am asking.

This may remove the harm, but it also may require me to grow

in my faith to persevere as the Apostle Paul did with his thorn in

his side.

For instance, a person, or situation, or ailment may continue to

present a threat to me, but instead of allowing the threat to

negatively affect my Spirituality, I will perfect my faith, my pearl.

My pearl will grow more beautiful because of the irritant.

However, as regards people, I will not cast my pearls before swine indefinitely. My enemy will help me perfect my pearl and if my enemy cannot see God’s beauty in me, I will remove myself from those people.

In the first instance, I can only begin this journey by rededicating my life to Jesus Christ and making Jesus the focus and purpose of my life. Jesus is to become first in my priorities. What I say and do will be with the knowledge that Jesus is with me. I will seek to please Jesus.

I will begin each day on my knees, in a position of submission to my Lord.  Each day I will begin clean. A new day. A new beginning.

At the end of each day I will ask for forgiveness, mercy and the faith to overcome whatever the next day presents.

To begin with, I will start to read the words of Jesus as revealed in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. It will take me some days, or weeks depending upon my contemplation. The words of Jesus are usually displayed in red for ease of notice.

When I have digested his words I will begin a daily Bible study, with an acknowledged Spiritual teacher.

There are many. The one’s that I will consider, I will suggest to you, at a later date. The one I choose to read each day, does not have to be the one that you may choose to read.

Most of us already know what needs flushed out of our lives, but we are frightened of change, or we cling like martyrs to the things that are killing us.

However, there are also people, environments, situations, objects, meetings and a whole host of other things that may be causing us grief, but we struggle on, hoping for a miracle.

Of course we cannot abandon our responsibilities, but much of what hurts us is not our responsibility, merely a habit.

Look honestly and remember that a stronger and happier ‘me’, will probably be a more productive ‘me’.
