Peace and Joy
The cleansing and strengthening process is part of the process
towards finding peace and joy on my ‘way’.
However, peace and joy do not always have to be worked at.
Sometimes we can just receive peace and joy.
The Garden of Eden was a paradise. God did not create a
concrete city with every mod con. God knew and knows
what is good for the soul of man and women.
God’s storehouses are overflowing and through Jesus Christ,
the Holy Spirit has provided me with a key. Actually, a lot of keys.
I have a busy day, week, month and life in front of me.
Very few people look back on life as they draw their last breath,
say, ‘I wish I had spent more time working’ and so I am now
going for a walk in the drizzle.
I will take deep breaths and talk to Jesus about whatever comes into my mind and I will thank God for all my blessings as I appreciate each step I take, with Him. Whatever else demands my time this day, will now have to give way to quality time with Jesus.......
..........I have had my walk and taken a bath and had a cup of tea and a bite to eat.
Normally I do not have the time to stop my daily routine, but now I am shaping up a new routine that requires that I pamper myself and put self, first.
This is not selfish. I will balance the needs of others against my own needs and my need to be at peace with myself, my God and my neighbour.
I will no longer be a slave to service, or to busyness, or to any person, or organisation, or church, or belief.
I belong to Jesus and he does not need another sad slave whipping himself with self righteous service.
He wants me to have peace and joy.
I am really looking forward to the point when I will be on fire again for Jesus, but this time with the wisdom to respect and maintain my flame.
