The Occult
Under no circumstance get yourself involved in evangelism
to those involved in occult craft unless the Lord is directing
you. It is a Spiritual and spiritual battle.
The positive aspect of the growth in witchcraft, wicca,
new age spiritualism and all the other pagan and heathen
activities is that people are looking for a spiritual dimension to their life.
That’s a bit like a double glazing salesman noticing a house with no windows and the occupants are using wooden shutters. It’s an opportunity not to be missed.
Unfortunately the Christian Church is a bit shy about the occult. Indeed, some Christians do not even believe that it exists. Who they think God is, or what Heaven is, or what angels are, one can only muse over.
The spiritual realm is a reality and man’s inner self, the soul, the spirit, has always known it. Many people are aware of a void within themselves and seek to fill that void. If we do not convince them as regards their need for Jesus, there are spirits who will fill their void.
The down side of steering people away from the occult and towards the Holy Spirit, is that the evil spirits will not simply shrug their shoulders and say, ‘have a nice day’.
In order to evangelise to people involved in the occult, one must have prayer support for protection and be sure of one’s own standing with God through Jesus Christ. Put your trust in the Lord, but pray and be prayed for. Walk each moment of your day with Jesus and at the name of Jesus the demons will flee.
To embark upon any kind of evangelism whilst one’s own walk with God is shall we say, less than what is required, is like a man climbing a mountain whilst gathering pebbles.
For many people, the safest way to evangelise to someone involved in any kind of occult craft, is from a distance, by praying for them each day, and/or mailing them a tract.
For the saints with the walk as well as the talk, there is much fertile soil waiting for the seed. Most people involved in any kind of occult craft are only dabbling in it and so they are open to the influence of the Holy Spirit.
Unfortunately for the dabblers, the results can still be dire. Relationship breakdown, depression, addictions, anger, paranoia, personality disorders are only some of the outer symptoms of a soul in torment.
Of course not everyone with a problem, has at its root an evil spirit.
However, I believe that much of the problems experienced in our world, in our country, in our county, in our home town,or village, on our street and perhaps even in our home, are as a direct result of demonic activity.
